India: The Economic Times gains readers
The findings of the latest Indian Readership Survey (IRS) have been announced:
- Not only is "The Economic Times" the only English business daily that consistently finds a place amongst the top 10 English newspapers in the country, its Average Issue Readership (AIR) has risen from 752,000 to 783,000. Remarkably, this has been achieved in a period of economic downturn.
- Further, the closet competitor to The Economic Times in the business newspaper space trails by over 600,000 readers.
- The readership of The Economic Times is two-and-a-half times of the combination of the second and third largest business dailies in India.
