The polling company Gfs in Berne conducted a survey on the media habits of the Swiss population, on behalf of 20 Minuten.
According to this study, Tages-Anzeiger is the most popular newspaper in Switzerland. It is followed by 20 Minuten, Neue Zürcher Zeitung, Blick and Berner Zeitung.
20minuten.ch tops the list of newsportals, in front of Newsnet (24heures.ch, bazonline.ch, bernerzeitung.ch, derbund.ch, lematin.ch, tagesanzeiger.ch, tdg.ch). On the third place comes nzz.ch, srf.ch, and Blick.ch
Gfs surveyed 1051 people aged 16 and more, all over Switzerland with phone interviews, as well an online survey of 3787 people by 20 Minuten online in co-operation with 20 minutes online and www.tio.ch. The period was released between December 11 and December 24, 2012 in German, French and Italian
Participants judged four criteria: information, mix of topics, background information and current news
