Media Search Widget Help

  General Terms:  
 
       
  Web widget A web widget is a portable chunk of code that can be installed and executed within any separate HTML based web page by an end user without requiring additional compilation. They are derived from the idea of code-reuse. Other terms used to describe web widgets include: gadget, badge, module, webjit, capsule, snippet, mini and flake.

  To install this gadget in you iGoogle platform please click here Add to Google  
     
 

To delete this gadget from your iGoogle page, follow these steps:

  1. Click the tab on the left that contains the gadget you wish to delete.
  2. In the top-right corner of the gadget you'd like to delete, click the down arrow.
  3. Select Delete this gadget.

  4. You'll be asked if you're sure you want to delete the gadget; click OK to confirm.
 
 
       
  Functionality:    
   
Media Type
  You can filter the search result based on the media type by clicking on the corresponding tab:  
 
  * Newspaper
  * Magazines
  * Online
  * Other (TV, Radio, Outdoors, Inflights, etc...)
 
 
       
   
Fact-sheet Display
  To display the corresponding Fact-Sheet please click on the media name  
 
       
   
Search Criteria
  You can use the following criteria's to find the media you look for:  
 
Media
Name Editorial content
Frequency Geographic coverage
Language Country
Profile  
   
Media Owner Name
 
 
       
   
Advance Search Operators
 
AND The AND operator matches documents where both terms exist anywhere in the text
e.g.: Fishing AND Peru; this will only return records that contain both terms anywhere on the text.
" " The quotes allow you to group terms that must be searched together.
e.g.: "international herald tribune"; this will return only records that have all three words on the written order.
? The single character wildcard search looks for terms that match the word with the single character replaced by any character.
e.g.: Te?t; this will return records with the word Text or with the word Test
* Multiple character wildcard searches looks for 0 or more characters between the terms.
e.g.: Te*t; this will return records with the word starting by Te an ending by t, like Test Tenant, Test, Text, Technocrat, etc...
